Sherry and Ricky met while cleaning up after Hurricane Michael in March 2019. Ricky was on his sixth month of disaster response for the LCMS. Sherry was there on a week long mission trip with a Lutheran Church from Omaha, NE. Their paths crossed in Panama City, FL. Their relationship was made complicated by long distance. At the time, Ricky lived in California and Sherry lived in Missouri. However, they were meant to be together. As time went on, prayers were answered and doors were opened to make everything work out for this couple. Ricky later proposed to Sherry in December 2020 and they got married in Redlands, CA in June 2021. They're looking forward to continuing the celebration with a second reception this October!

They were brought together by disaster, but nothing can destroy this love rooted in Christ.
